Our boat – Le Tigre
Our boat is a Lagoon 42 catamaran, 2019 model.
It is a beautiful boat with teak flooring in the aft. As a catamaran, it has lots of lounging space:
- aft, incl. dining / lounging area
- trampoline seating area with cushions
- rooftop sun lounger with cushions
- indoor saloon (“living room”) with TV
In addition to the common spaces, Le Tigre has four cabins and each of them can accommodate 2 persons. The cabins have large windows, some storage for your belongings and en-suite bathrooms (or in boating terminology “heads”) with showers.
The boat has A/C to keep the boat cool at summer, if needed. In addition, she has Webasto heating both indoors as well as outdoors in the cockpit to keep you warm in case of colder weather.
For day trips the boat can fit 12 guests and 6-8 for over-night stay.
Life is better on a boat
We have equipped her well in order to maximize comfort. We have for instance added additional fridge and freeze space to keep your drinks cool and food fresh. On a hot summer day air-conditioning is an appreciated treat and so is heating on a spring/ fall evening (or at times even in summer – you cannot truly trust the Finnish summers). Also, to better fit with different wind conditions we have added code 0 and parasailor sails to the boat (in addition to main sail and jib).
The kitchen (in boating words “galley”) has everything you need for cooking: gas stove with three burners and additionally a two-burner induction stove, gas oven, water heater, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, fridge and freezer.
And of course, we have not forgotten the toys: We have two SUP (Stand Up Paddle) boards, some snorkeling gear, fishing gear, hammock,…
New to catamarans?
Catamarans have two hulls whereas “normal sailboats” are monohulls. This means that cats have a lot more space! Monohulls have to fit everything in that one hull, whereas cats have cabins in each of the hulls and additional living space like saloon and galley between the hulls. Also catamarans are more stable and don’t heal like monohulls. If you have tendency for sea sickness, catamaran might be better option for you.

Location
The home base for the boat is in Pohjoisranta, Helsinki, Finland; right next to Tervasaari. Thus, arrival and departure is convenient to organize through that but we can also discuss other locations.
