Caribbean 2023

  /    /  Caribbean 2023

Trip: Caribbean sailing Dec 2022 – Apr 2023

Are you ready for stunning turquois water anchorages, snorkeling /scuba diving, eating freshly caught fish, having a drink at the sun set,…? This is what we are looking for!

You can join us for a particular island or join for a sail between multiple islands. Also, during a stay at each island, we are likely to spend time on multiple anchorages/ marinas. Most of the islands in Caribbean are day-sail apart from each other. During the sail you can participate in the sailing activities, if you want to, or you can chill and enjoy the sun & a drink.

Initial route and schedule

The initial route and schedule is presented below. We arrive from the Atlantic crossing to Grenada around 2nd of December 2022 and do island hopping towards north from that point onwards. The route and schedule are subject to change, e.g. due to weather conditions. The times per island also include some passage time between the islands but in most cases the islands are day-sail apart.

  • Grenada
  • St Vincent and the Grenadines
  • St Lucia
  • Martinique
  • Dominica - FULL
  • Guadeloupe - FULL
  • Antigua and Barbuda - FULL
  • St Kitts and Nevis - FULL
  • St Martin / St Marteen - FULL
  • Anguilla - FULL
  • Virgin islands (British & US) - FULL
  • Puerto Rico - FULL
  • Dominical republic - FULL
  • Passage to Jamaica
  • Jamaica + 2-2,5 days passage
  • Inagua, Bahamas
  • Turks and Caicos - FULL
  • Bahamas - FULL

Note: The plan was updated in December to skip Haiti (safety concerns) and Cuba (imposes limitations to visit US after).

Pricing

  • Weekly price
  • 580
    per person
  • The travel time is fully customizable (no need to stay exactly 1 week). The price is adjusted accordingly.

The price includes:

  • Accommodation in 2-person cabin. There may be another person in the cabin with you. Each cabin has its own toilet.
  • Topics related to the boat and to safety (skipper, guidance, safety gear, boat maintenance & insurance, gas for the stove etc.)
  • Bed linen, towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap
  • Fuel for the boat

The price does not include

  • Food
  • Marina / mooring fees
  • Other travel costs (such as flights, potential accommodation on land, possible vaccinations to enter a country, possible visa fees)
  • Food expenses (groceries, restaurants) are divided with participants based on realized costs. You can also impact on these (e.g. price range of restaurant and deciding on cooking on boat vs eating out).
  • Similarly marina/ mooring fees are divided based on realized costs. One night in marina is typically in total ca 60-95 euros (depending on the place), which is divided with everyone on the boat. We prefer to stay in anchorage as you have nice sea breeze, nicer swimming possibilities, more privacy & no sounds from fenders. As a treat on top, it is also free of charge.
  • Everyone organizes and pays for any travel outside the sailing (e.g. flights, potential accommodation on land and travel from airport to the boat) and for their own insurances. Moreover, everyone is responsible for fulfilling any entry criteria for the country (e.g. COVID-19 or yellow fever vaccination related requirements or visas).

Hint: When you book for your flights, it is useful to look flights also to neighboring islands. There can be big difference in the prices and flight availability between the countries (typically you can expect better / cheaper connections from Europe to the islands that are part of an European country compared to the independent island nations). The islands have ferry and flight routes between each other and they are typically affordable.

Also, please check with us on the schedule prior to booking flights so we can give any possible updates to passage plan.
